So you want to visit the Fort? Wonderful! We are eager to share the Fort Roberdeau story with you. Here area few items to help you plan your trip to historic Fort Roberdeau.

Hours of Operation:

The Fort is open May 1 – October 31

Tuesday – Saturday 11am-5pm

Sunday-Monday 1pm – 5pm

Directions:

Fort Roberdeau is located in a rural area outside of Altoona, Pennsylvania known as Sinking Valley. Because of our rural location the Fort may be tricky to locate. Please click on the icon shown on the map. In the box you can select directions, input your address, and Google will automatically generate custom directions from your starting point.

Other Useful Information

Dress for the outdoors. Comfortable but sturdy walking shoes will let you enjoy the walk around the grounds of Fort Roberdeau. A light weight jack or sweatshirt may be needed for days earlier or later in the season.

Fort Roberdeau has a covered picnic pavilion and restroom facilities. We do not have a concession stand and the closest restaurants are located outside the valley. Plan on bringing a beverage or something to eat, you will need the energy to walk our trails.

RV and Bus Parking are available. We currently do not have RV hookups but you are welcome to park on the grounds while visiting the Fort.
